Tamazato Collection
A collection of books from the personal library of Hisamitsu Shimazu and Tamazato-Shimazu clan, including autograph manuscripts by Hisamitsu, books edited by Shimazu clan, historical books relating to Satsuma Domain, and translation manuscripts relating to Western learning at the end of Edo Period and so on.
Iwamoto Collection
A collection of books from the personal library of Tei Iwamoto, who served as professor of philosophy at the First Higher School, including Chinese old books and Western books relating to literature and philosophy.
Matsumoto Collection
A collection of books from the personal library of Mataichi Matsumoto, who served as professor of Chinese literature at the Eighth Higher School, including Chinese old books, Japanese old books, and books relating to medicine.
Miscellaneous Rare Books and Old Materials
A collection of miscellaneous rare books and old materials, including "Nanto Zatsuwa", a folklore of Amami Oshima in the late modern period, and "Tokunoshima Jijo", a book on Tokunoshima from the late modern period to the early Taisho Period.
Ernst Putscher Works
A collection of both manuscript and printed musical works composed by Ernst Putscher, a musician and a German language teacher at the Seventh Higher School. The collection was donated to Kagoshima University Library in 1965. Copyright transferred to Kagoshima University Library at the time of donation.
